How to Install an eSIM on iPhone and Android (Step-by-Step)

Installing Your VOYA eSIM is Easy
After purchasing a VOYA eSIM plan, you'll receive a QR code by email. Here's how to activate it on your device - the whole process takes less than 5 minutes.
Before You Start
- Make sure your device is eSIM compatible (see list below).
- Your phone must be unlocked (not locked to a specific carrier).
- You need a WiFi or data connection to download the eSIM profile.
- Have your VOYA QR code ready (check your email).
iPhone Setup (iOS 16+)
- Go to Settings ? Cellular ? Add eSIM (or "Add Cellular Plan").
- Tap "Use QR Code".
- Scan your VOYA QR code.
- Tap "Continue" when prompted, then "Add Cellular Plan".
- Label the plan (e.g., "VOYA Japan") and choose whether to use it as primary or secondary.
- Your eSIM is installed! It will activate when you arrive at your destination.
Android Setup (Samsung / Google Pixel)
Samsung Galaxy
- Go to Settings ? Connections ? SIM Card Manager ? Add Mobile Plan.
- Tap "Scan Carrier QR Code".
- Scan your VOYA QR code.
- Follow the on-screen instructions to confirm.
Google Pixel
- Go to Settings ? Network & Internet ? SIMs ? Add SIM.
- Tap "Download a SIM instead?".
- Scan your VOYA QR code.
- Follow prompts to complete installation.

- Note: iPhone 14 and later (US models) are eSIM-only, no physical SIM slot

Troubleshooting Common Issues
- QR code not working? Ensure your phone is connected to WiFi and try again. If the code has already been scanned once, contact VOYA support.
- No signal after arrival? Go to Settings ? Cellular ? VOYA plan ? turn on "Data Roaming" and "Voice & Data".
- "SIM not supported" error? Your phone may be carrier-locked. Contact your home carrier to unlock it.
- eSIM option grayed out? Some regions sell carrier-locked phones that disable eSIM. Check with your carrier.
