South Korea eSIM Guide: Unlimited, Daily or Total Data (2026)
แชร์
Heading to South Korea and not sure which eSIM to pick? This guide compares four VOYA South Korea eSIMs: two unlimited plans with no daily high-speed cap, a plan with a daily high-speed allowance, and a total-data plan on the SKT network – and explains how they differ so you can choose quickly.
Quick pick
| Your trip | Plan | Why |
|---|---|---|
| Heavy data use, any length from 1 to 30 days | South Korea eSIM – Standard | Unlimited Data / 1~30 Days | Unlimited data with no daily high-speed cap, 15 trip lengths to choose from |
| Heavy data use, 3, 5, 10, 20 or 30 days | South Korea eSIM – 5G Ultra | Unlimited Data / 3~30 Days | Unlimited data with no daily high-speed cap |
| Steady everyday use | South Korea eSIM – Daily 1GB | Unlimited Data / 1~30 Days | 1GB, 2GB or 3GB of high-speed data a day, then 128kbps |
| Light use, or you know how much data you need | South Korea eSIM – 5GB~50GB Total / 3~30 Days | A set amount of data for the whole trip, on the SKT network |
1. Standard: unlimited, 1–30 days
Choose 1 to 10 days, 12, 15, 20, 25 or 30 days, so you can match the plan to your trip. Data is unlimited with no throttling, and the plan has no daily high-speed cap – you stay on high-speed data for the whole plan period.

2. 5G Ultra: unlimited, 3–30 days
Available for 3, 5, 10, 20 or 30 days. Like Standard, it is unlimited data with no throttling and no daily high-speed cap, so you stay on high-speed data for the whole plan period. If your trip length isn't one of these five options, Standard gives you more choices.

3. Daily plan: 1GB, 2GB or 3GB a day
Choose 1, 3, 5, 7, 10, 15, 20 or 30 days, and 1GB, 2GB or 3GB of high-speed data per day. After the day's high-speed data is used, you stay connected at 128kbps. Your high-speed data resets at midnight local time.
Once the QR code is installed, start using the plan within 30 days or it expires – so install it close to your departure date.

4. Total data: 5GB to 50GB on SKT
A total-data plan on the SKT network. Choose 3, 5, 7, 10, 15 or 30 days and 5GB, 10GB, 20GB or 50GB. This is not a daily plan: once your total high-speed data is used up, you stay connected at a reduced speed of 128kbps until the plan ends, and there is no midnight reset.
As with the daily plan, start using it within 30 days of installing the QR code.

Unlimited, daily or total data?
If you use maps, translation apps and social media all day, or you are not sure how much data you will need, Standard or 5G Ultra removes the guesswork. A daily plan suits steady use: you get the same amount of high-speed data every day, refreshed at midnight. A total-data plan suits trips where you mostly use hotel or café Wi-Fi and want one amount of data for the whole trip. On both, remember that 128kbps is much slower than normal mobile data.
How to set up your South Korea eSIM
- Check your phone. It must support eSIM and be unlocked (not tied to one carrier).
- Buy and get your QR code by email.
- Install it with your phone camera. You can scan and install the QR code before your trip – just don't turn on data roaming until you arrive, so your plan doesn't start early. For the daily and total-data plans, install close to your departure date, because you need to start using them within 30 days of installing.
- On arrival, select the VOYA eSIM for mobile data and turn on Data Roaming for it. Allow 3–5 minutes for it to connect.
FAQ
Do these plans include a Korean phone number?
No. All four plans in this guide are data-only, with no local phone number included.
Can I keep my home SIM in my phone?
Yes. You can switch between lines in your settings and choose which one is used for mobile data. Whether your home number can receive calls and texts abroad, and what that costs, depends on your home carrier.
Can I delete the eSIM after my trip?
Keep it installed while you still need the plan – the eSIM can only be installed once, so it can't be reinstalled after you delete it.
What if I can't scan the QR code?
Try removing any old eSIM plans first, or reset your network settings and try again. If it still doesn't work, contact us on WhatsApp.
What if it doesn't connect after I arrive?
Make sure Data Roaming is turned on for the VOYA eSIM and wait 3–5 minutes. If it still isn't working, connect to Wi-Fi and contact us on WhatsApp.
